Download an Instagram Story Without Them Knowing You Viewed It
To be clear about scope: this doesn't get you into Stories you're not already allowed to see. It only works for accounts you already follow (or public accounts) — the same access you'd have opening the app normally. What it avoids is the "seen by" notification that swiping through a Story in the app leaves behind.
How it works
- Log into Instagram normally in your browser, using the account that already has access to the Story.
- Copy your session Cookie: DevTools (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+I) → Network tab → open
any instagram.com request → copy the full
Cookieheader value. Full steps are on the Help page. - On the InstaDownloadPro homepage, open Advanced, paste the Cookie, and paste the Story's link.
- Download the photo or video directly. Because this fetches the raw media file through the same kind of request the app itself makes to load data, rather than opening it in the in-app Story viewer, it doesn't trigger the "seen" mark the way swiping through Stories does.

Will they see that I viewed it?
Fetching the file this way doesn't call the action Instagram's app uses to add you to a Story's "seen by" list. We can't make absolute guarantees about Instagram's own systems, or promise this never changes, but it's not routed through the normal in-app viewing flow that generates that notification.
Can I view Stories from an account that hasn't accepted my follow request?
No. This uses your own logged-in session, so it only reaches what your account can already see — a public account, or a private one you already follow. It doesn't bypass anyone's privacy settings.
Is my Cookie stored anywhere?
No — it's used only for that single request and deleted from our server immediately after. See the Privacy Policy for the exact mechanics. A session cookie is sensitive (it's functionally equivalent to being logged into your account), so only paste it into tools you trust.
How long do I have before the Story disappears?
Instagram Stories expire 24 hours after posting unless the account has saved them to Highlights — download before then if you want a copy.
