The short version
InstaDownloadPro doesn't require an account, doesn't track you across visits, and doesn't build a profile of you. Here's exactly what does happen when you use it.
The Instagram link you paste in
When you submit a link, it's sent to our server to look up the media at that link and return the download options. We don't keep a permanent log of which links you've submitted.
IP address and rate limiting
To prevent abuse, we keep a short-lived, in-memory count of requests per IP address (capped at 20 per minute). This isn't written to disk or any database — it's held in the server's memory, automatically ages out after a minute, and is wiped entirely whenever the server restarts.
What we download and stream
When you download a photo or video, InstaDownloadPro fetches it from Instagram's own servers and streams it straight through to you. For certain videos, this may briefly involve writing the video to a temporary file on our server so two separate streams (video and audio) can be combined into one file — that temporary file is deleted immediately after it's sent to you, and isn't retained.
Cookies and analytics
InstaDownloadPro doesn't currently use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. If that changes in the future (for example, adding privacy-respecting analytics or ads to keep the tool free), this page will be updated first to reflect it.
Third parties
Fetching your requested content necessarily involves contacting Instagram's own servers (and their CDN domains) on your behalf. We don't share any data with other third parties.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will update the "Last updated" date above.
