Download Instagram Photos in Original, Full Quality
A screenshot gives you whatever your screen can show, cropped to your device and recompressed as a new image. InstaDownloadPro instead fetches the actual photo file from Instagram's own servers — the same file the app displays, not a copy of a copy.
How to download a photo
- Open the post and tap the three dots (•••) → Copy Link.
- Paste it into the box on the InstaDownloadPro homepage.
- Click Download — you'll see a preview with a direct download button for the image file.
- Save it. It's a straight file transfer, not a screen capture, so there's no cropping, no extra compression, and no loss of detail from the process itself.
FAQ
Is this better quality than a screenshot?
Yes — a screenshot is limited by your screen's resolution and gets recompressed as a new image. This downloads the actual photo file Instagram stores, uncropped and without any additional compression on our end.
Does this restore quality Instagram already compressed on upload?
No — Instagram applies its own compression when a photo is originally posted, and we can't undo that. What we avoid is adding more loss on top of it, which is what happens with a screenshot or a re-uploaded copy.
Can I download someone else's photo?
Technically, yes, for anything public — but only download content you own or have permission to use. See the Terms of Service for the full picture.
What about posts with multiple photos?
Same process, but see our carousel download guide for how to grab every photo in a multi-photo post at once.
