How to save a TikTok
In the TikTok app, tap Share on the video and then
Copy link. On tiktok.com, copy the address out of the browser bar.
Paste it in the box above and press Continue — you get a preview, then a button that
saves the MP4. Short links work too: the vm.tiktok.com/…
form that the Share sheet hands you is the same video.
Why not just use TikTok's own download button?
Because of what it hands you. TikTok's in-app save writes the bouncing TikTok logo and the creator's @username into the picture itself — not an overlay you can switch off later, but part of the video. TikTok serves the clean copy as well as the stamped one, and this site asks for the clean copy — so what you save is the video as it plays in the feed. Nothing is re-encoded here either, so there is no second chance for a watermark to appear.
And TikTok's button exists only in the app. This works in a browser, on a laptop or a phone, with the sound extractable as MP3 and the video trimmable or convertible to a GIF once it has loaded.
What it will not do
Photo slideshows. TikTok serves those as audio with no video, so a download would be an MP3 of the background music and none of the pictures. The site says so rather than handing you that file.
Private, deleted, or age-restricted videos. If the video needs a logged-in account to watch, a link on its own cannot reach it.
Very long videos. Anything over ten minutes is refused before the download starts, and so is anything over 250 MB where TikTok tells us the size in advance — serving those costs more than this site makes from them. The message tells you the actual length rather than failing silently.
Watermarks that are already part of the picture. If the creator exported their video with a watermark on it, or re-uploaded something that already had one, it is in the pixels. No downloader can take that out — that needs video editing.
Is this legal?
Downloading a video does not give you rights to it. Saving something for your own reference, or saving your own uploads, is a different thing from re-posting someone else's video as your own — which is a copyright question regardless of watermarks, and is also how accounts get struck. Keep to TikTok's terms and to the law where you are.
